My Practice
I have extensive training and experience working with adult individuals and couples who are seeking help with: frequent feelings of sadness, anger, guilt or shame; overwhelming anxiety and/or panic; relationship conflict or loss; historical or current trauma including childhood abuse or partner abuse; life transitions including marriage, pregnancy and new parenthood or divorce; illness or death of a loved one. Additionally, I am certified to work psychoanalytically with parents and infants and will work with you and your baby either individually or within a small group setting to help you become more attuned to the developing relationship between you and your baby.
Our experiences in life shape how we think about ourselves and relate to others. Painful life experiences can sometimes undermine the hope that change and growth are possible. As we explore your experiences you may become more able to understand and appreciate how those experiences have influenced and shaped your inner world, and ultimately transform their legacy.
I see psychotherapy as a natural response to life's inevitable disappointments and difficulties. I practice with the belief that deep listening on my part, and active communication between the two of us can help you develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the person you are.
I work with individuals who wish to experience, perhaps for the first time, a sense of purpose and direction in their lives. I will work actively with you to help you develop the capacity to create and sustain trusting, loving and lasting relationships, increasing your overall sense of well being and hopefulness.
